Comic Relief – Roller Rink
When Comic Relief came calling, we were thrilled to be their supplier of a wonderfully branded roller rink for Morning Live’s 24-hour, non-stop roller-skating fundraising challenge! This project showcased our ability to deliver high-impact installations for national, live broadcasts.
How Did We Help Comic Relief?
In February 2025, plans for the Wheely Big Challenge was laid out, with Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton from Morning Live roller-skating constantly for 24-hours to fundraise for Comic Relief.
It was an incredible challenge, and one that we were certainly excited to be involved with. When Comic Relief approached us with their roller rink needs, we understood the requirement for a fully branded, stunning roller rink that will astound audiences on national TV.
The roller rink that we provided was truly bespoke. It was flooded with purple, including logos and branding plastered across both the safety barriers and the flooring.
How Did the Event Go?
To set this roller rink up, we devoted hours of preparation to ensure it not only looked fantastic but could withstand 24 hours of continuous skating under live studio lighting. We wrapped each barrier with the right colour, branding and also scaled up and printed the massive logo on the roller rink floor!
For the whole 24 hours of the event, our roller rink was visible on BBC iPlayer, where the challenge was streamed live for everyone to see. We were delighted to hear Gethin constantly compliment the rink during the event! Working on this project was such a proud moment for the team at Roller Magic, which was then reinforced by the fantastic achievement from the Morning Live team of raising over £1 million for Comic Relief.

After the challenge, the feedback that we received from The Wheely Big Challenge team, Comic Relief and the Morning Live crew was overwhelmingly positive. We always aim to go the extra mile with our events, and receiving glowing feedback is the reward for the hard work that we put in.
